I Love October

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I actually posted! My goal for the summer was to enjoy every minute of it! And in my quest to be present and enjoy everyday I just didn’t get around to posting.  Learning to be present is a very difficult thing for me, so the fact that I was able to get better at it over the summer was huge and I’m still working on it!  I’ve also added meditation to my life, via headspace. I listen everyday on the train on my way to work and I’ve managed to get to the 20 minute sessions. Again, huge!

So on this wonderfully beautiful Fall Sunday afternoon, I’ve decided to sit and get back into writing on the regular. We are almost in the middle of October and my girls are pretty settled into their school routine. Ella transition to JK like a champ. Emilia had a smooth start to grade 5. Now we have to make lunches times 2, but the fact that we have only one drop off now has really changed our lives! Who knew it would make such a difference in the flow of our mornings. We have never had such calm, cool and collected mornings since before we had kids. I don’t want to jinx it, but I’m actually starting to enjoy our morning routines again!

And as the days are a little cooler I’m back into my knitting and crochet projects and the craziest of all crazy goals I have for myself this year is to read more and get in shape. No bigs right? The reading part hasn’t been too bad, I have a self-help (You are a Badass) and fiction book (Next Year In Havana) on the go, the fitness goal, well that’s a whole other ball of wax. But as I get older, I can see how fitness and being active will only work for me! I’ve been using the C25K app to help me ease into being a jogger and last year I bought the body boss fitness program and I’m determined to finish the 12 weeks. The furthest I’ve gotten was week 3. I’m hoping by making it a priority i will finally get to the end of the program. I’m also hoping to take my sister and best friend on my fitness journey. It takes tribe to be the best you can be!

Until Next Time…Patricia xoxoxo
